All you need to do to embed a video into a Wordpress post or page is to paste the URL of the video into your content area. Make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked.
For example:
Check out this cool video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W1ULoLs6Cg
That was a cool video.
WordPress will automatically turn that into an embedded YouTube video when the post is viewed.
You can also opt to wrap the URL in the [embed] shortcode. It will accomplish the same effect and also allows you to set a maximum (but not fixed) width and height, like so:
Check out this cool video:
[embed width="123" height="456"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W1ULoLs6Cg[/embed]
That was a cool video.
If WordPress is unable to embed your URL you will get a hyperlink to the URL when you view your post or page.
What Sites Can I Embed From?

- Viddler
- Hulu
- Qik

- Scribd
