There are many different types of merge fields available to use in iDashboard. With over 100+ different fields it is easy to get confused with what merge field should be used.
This article will cover the different types of merge fields available in iDashboard and when they should be used.

Date & Time Mail Merge Fields
The list of Date & Time Mail Merge fields will allow you to automatically generate the current Date and/or Time on a document generated from iDashboard.
There are currently 21 Mail Merge fields for displaying the Date and Time on your documents. Some of these will display both the Date and Time for you, whilst others will allow you to customise how you want the Date and Time displayed in your document.
The Date & Time Mail Merge Fields can be used in any document at any time.
For Example, if you would like to display the current date in your merged document you would use the following merge field:
{{ now.date_au }}
The generated Date from using this field would be in the standard date format of dd/mm/yyyy.
If you would also like to display the time that your document was generated from iDashboard you would use this merge field:
{{ now.time }}
This would output the time as 12 Hour Time in the standard hh:mm AM/PM format.
iDashboard also allows you to customise how the Date and/or Time is displayed in your document.

Property Mail Merge Fields
iDashboard has an enormous list of Property Mail Merge Fields which allow you to generate Mail Merge Documents throughout every stage of your listing.
Property Mail Merge Fields can only be used when generating a document that is intended to display Property information.
The list of Property Mail Merge fields is continuously growing and is broken up into different aspects of your listing.

General Property Fields: General Property Fields include displaying Bed, Bath and Car Totals; as well as displaying Special Conditions, Inclusions, Title Particulars etc.
Address Fields: Address Fields allow you to display the full address of the property, or choose how you would like to have the address displayed in your documents.
Price Fields: Price Fields display the Appraisal Price, Advertised Price, Contract Price or Selling Fee for a property.
Appraising Agent Fields: Appraising Agent Fields can be used to display the Name, Address and Contact details of the Appraising Agent of a property.
Listing Agent Fields: Listing Agent Fields can be used to display the Name, Address and Contact details of the Listing Agent of a property.
Contact Agent Fields: Contact Agent Fields can be used to display the Name, Address and Contact details of the Contact Agent of a property. If the Contact Agent is set to display the Listing Agents, the first listing agents details will be generated.
Appraisal Date Fields: Appraisal Date Fields can be used to display the Appraisal Date for a property. As per the Date and Time fields, you are able to customise how the date is displayed in your Mail Merge Document.
Inspection Date and Time Fields: Inspection Date and Time Fields can be used to display the next upcoming open home or the most recent open home. As per the Date and Time fields, you can customise how the date and time of your open homes are displayed.
Auction Date and Time Fields: Auction Date and Time Fields can be used to display the Auction Date and/or Time for a property. As per the Date and Time fields, you can customise how the date and time are displayed in your Mail Merge Document.
Exchange Date Fields: Exchange Date Fields can be used to display the Exchange Date for a property. As per the Date and Time fields, you are able to customise how the date is displayed in your Mail Merge Document. NOTE: These fields will only work for properties with a status of Under Contract and above.
Sold Date Fields: Sold Date Fields can be used to display the Sold Date for a property. As per the Date and Time fields, you are able to customise how the date is displayed in your Mail Merge Document. NOTE: These fields will only work for properties with a status of Sold and above, or with properties Under Contract that have a future sold date entered.
Settlement Date Fields: Settlement Date Fields can be used to display the Settlement Date for a property. As per the Date and Time fields, you are able to customise how the date is displayed in your Mail Merge Document. NOTE: These fields will only work for properties with a status of Settled and above, or with properties that have a status of Under Contract and above with a future Settlement Date entered.
Vendor & Vendor Solicitor Fields: Vendor & Vendor Solicitor Fields can be used to display the Name, Address and Contact details of the Vendor or Vendor Solicitor of a property. NOTE: These fields will only work if a Vendor and/or Vendor Solicitor has been added as a contact to the property. To learn how to add contacts to a property you can view this article.
Purchaser & Purchaser Solicitor Fields: Purchaser & Purchaser Solicitor Fields can be used to display the Name, Address and Contact details for the Purchaser or Purchaser Solicitor of a property. NOTE: These fields will only work if a Purchaser and/or Purchaser Solicitor has been added as a contact to the property. To learn how to add contacts to a property you can view this article.
Contact Mail Merge Fields
Contact Mail Merge Fields can be utilised when you want to generate certain information about a Contact in your Mail Merge Document.
This can range from merging a contact's name and address to merging a contact's phone numbers and partner's details.
NOTE: If the Mail Merge Document is being generated for a Contact you can also use Contact Owner merge fields to generate information about the Agent that is set as the owner of the contact.
If John Smith was the owning agent for a contact that a Mail Merge Document was being generated from, Contact Owner fields can be used to merge information about John into the document.
Using the above as a scenario; using the below field would generate the full name of the Owning Agent, which in this case would be John Smith.

Sender/Employee Mail Merge Fields
When generating a Mail Merge Document in iDashboard you will always be asked two things. To choose the Property or Contact to merge with the Mail Merge Document, and who the Sender is for the document.
The Sender Mail Merge Fields allow you to merge information about the chosen Sender of your Document. This can allow you to make standard Signatures of Letters and Emails using Mail Merge fields.
For Example, to generate the full name for the chosen Sender of the Mail Merge the below field would be used.

Agency Merge Fields
Agency Merge Fields can be used to merge specific information about your Agency into your Mail Merge Documents.
Fields range from merging the agency name, address and contact details; to merging your Agencies website URL and social media URLs
