Managing Contact Categories

You can categorise your contacts in iDashboard through the use of Contact Categories, such as Buyer, Tenant, Vendor, Landlord, Investor, etc. Contacts can be placed into a single or multiple categories.

To ADD a new Contact Category:

  1. Go to Admin & Account Settings > Contact Categories.
  2. The Contact Categories page will load. Click Add Category and in the text field enter the name of your new category (it can be anything you want).
  3. When you are ready to create your new category click Add Category.
  4. Repeat this step for all new categories you want to create.

To RENAME an existing Contact Category:

  1. Go to Admin & Account Settings.
  2. The Contact Categories page will load, click on the green pencil icon of the category you want to change/rename.
  3. In the text box that appears change the name.
  4. When you are ready to save your new category name click Update Category, otherwise click Cancel.

To MERGE a Contact Category with another:

  1. Go to Admin & Account Settings.
  2. The Contact Categories page will load, click the red trash icon next to the category you wish to merge into another category.
  3. The Delete window will appear, in the drop-down box select the category you want to merge to.
  4. When you are ready to merge click Yes, delete it!, otherwise click Cancel.

To REMOVE a Contact Category:

  1. Go to Admin & Account Settings.
  2. The Contact Categories page will load, click the red trash icon next to the category you wish to merge into another category.
  3. The Delete window will appear, ensure the merge drop-down box remains set to "No thanks!"
  4. When you are ready to remove click Yes, delete it!, otherwise click Cancel.

WARNING: Merging or Removing a Contact Category can not be undone or reversed, even by our team at iProperty. Please exercise caution when Merging or Removing a Contact Category.
